Unlike other financial institutions, credit unions are based on the principles of community, co-operation, co-ownership and mutual self-help. Whilst our volunteers and staff are critical to the success of Coalisland Credit Union, our membership is the foundation of our success.
Co-Owners
The members of Coalisland Credit Union are the co-owners of Coalisland Credit Union. As such, members are entitled to expect top-class service, courtesy and professionalism.
Coalisland Credit Union adheres to the Ten Operating Principles of the international credit union movement. These principles and our Code of Ethics ensures that Service to Members is a top priority.
What Members Expect From Us
Members can expect to be treated with dignity, courtesy, efficiency and professionalism.
As an organisation, Coalisland Credit Union aims to keep staff trained in all services, products and systems so that we can deliver the service you expect.
What We Expect From Members
At the same time, membership of Coalisland Credit Union carries its own responsibilities. Members are expected to save regularly, borrow sensibly, repay their loans as agreed, and try to be active members by attending our Annual General Meeting and/or putting their names forward for one of our voluntary committees or for election to the Board of Directors or Supervisory Committee.
In addition, members are expected to treat our staff and personnel with the same courtesy and respect they expect from us. After all, our staff and voluntary personnel are also members and co-owners of Coalisland Credit Union!
